The summer is inching towards its peak. The temperature is already soaring at 36 degrees with ‘real feel’ at 40 degrees. The city is getting to water and power shortage. The Doddakallasandra and Gubbalala neighbourhoods have started feeling the heat of these shortages.

The water tankers moving around the neighbourhood is a common sight. The demand for the tankers is also going up. The waiting time to receive water supply through the tankers is anywhere between 2 to 8 hours.  The charges have shot up at least by Rs. 100 per 7000 litres taking the charges to around Rs. 500 to Rs. 600 per tanker.

The residents feel the hole in the pocket, as life without water is a standstill. Many communities are thinking to go for digging additional borewell to meet the demand, as the existing borewells have dried up.

The residents eagerly await the summer showers, which they hope will ease the situation.
